Claire Zillessen

BSc (Hons) MCSP

Since qualifying 12 years ago I have worked in a variety of acute and community settings both for the NHS and privately. I have had experience in many clinical areas including: Elderly Care, Trauma and Elective Orthopaedics, Neurology, Amputees, Sarcoma (bone cancer), Stroke, Respiratory Medicine, Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Paediatrics, Post Surgery Rehab, Spinal Cord Injury and Chronic Pain.

I specialised in Orthopaedics, while working for several years as a Senior Physiotherapist at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, London.

This time at a world leading orthopaedic centre was invaluable and enforced my belief that everyone should be entitled to high quality rehabilitation; regardless of their location or ability to access clinics.

After relocating back to Yorkshire my desire to provide a high quality accesible physiotherapy service has led me to create Your Life Physiotherapy.

I hold up to date registration with the HCPC and CSP  and am a member of the Association of Trauma and Orthopaedic Chartered Physiotherapists group. All of this ensures I keep up to date with current evidence and practice.

I am trained in clinical pilates  (DMA matwork) and through working at the London Spinal Cord injury centre have also had training in Bobath principles of neurological rehabilitation.
